(It’s okay; I didn’t make the list of the 100 Greatest Metal Bands of All Time, either. And I wouldn’t have put either Ayn Rand or Korn on either list.)

Advice for Debating William Lane Craig, part 3

Another prominent atheist has chimed in on my posts offering advice for debating William Lane Craig (Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here); this time it’s Christopher Hallquist, whose stuff I also typically enjoy.

As with John Loftus’s response, I find myself puzzled by Hallquist’s overall evaluation — here, he says that my advice is “somewhat misguided.” This is strange, since as far as I can tell, Hallquist and I agree on virtually everything I said! Let’s take a look:

My Response to Jessica Thomas

Christian Science Fiction fan (and author?) Jessica Thomas, in the comments to a previous post, references a post she made elsewhere that responds to my basic question as to why God doesn’t prohibit slavery in the Bible, as well as makes some original points. A Very Nice Layperson’s Explanation of Recent Human Evolution

Check out BoingBoing’s explanation of Ken Miller’s talk on chromosome fusion, which provides powerful confirmation of the shared ancestry between humans and apes.

One nit with the article: the author uses the term “chromosome” to mean “pair of chromosomes.” The fusion Miller describes occurred in pair 2, so humans have 23 pairs of chromosomes (46 total) and apes have 24.
